Villa Obizzi and the Biblioteca Civica

Villa Obizzi dates back to the 17th century. Its Renaissance layout was altered by extensive modifications in the 19th century. Today, the building houses the municipal administration and the city library of Albignasego. Historical architecture and public functions therefore come together directly at this location.

The Biblioteca Civica offers books and magazines for use, lending services and free internet access. It also promotes guided tours and cultural tours. In Villa Obizzi, the Sala Verdi is used for cultural and musical events; it is accessible to people with disabilities. Historic Gardens and Parks

Parco Villa Obizzi is the most important public park in Albignasego. At the same time, it is a historic garden dating from the late 16th century that was known for many years as Parco della Rimembranza. Its history complements that of the villa and makes the park an independent part of the townscape.

Parco Mandriola offers large green spaces, play equipment for children and a kiosk. The park is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities. Its documented offerings therefore clearly distinguish it from the historic garden at Villa Obizzi: here, usable open spaces, play facilities and a kiosk take centre stage.

Parco della Costituzione has a reservable picnic area with a barbecue. It can be used from 10:00 to 21:00 in two shifts. Residents of Albignasego must reserve in advance. This specific rule applies to use of the picnic facilities and should be taken into account when planning accordingly.

Traditions and Cycle Paths

The Festa della Trebbiatura took place on 21 and 22 June 2025 in its 23rd edition. The event featured demonstrations of traditional crafts and re-enactments of rural life in times gone by. It also included a market for organic products and GAS. These programme items show how the festival combined historic working and living practices with a market event; the 2025 edition should be regarded as a past date.

There are also specific local features for visitors interested in cycling. Albignasego received the “Comune Ciclabile 2025” award with two Bikesmiles. The cycle network aims to provide connections with neighbouring municipalities and the city’s main attractions.
