Galzignano Terme combines the landscape of the Euganean Hills with gardens, culture, trails, golf and thermal pools. For planning your trip, different experiences are available side by side: you can explore a historic garden independently, take part in nature education activities, follow marked trails or learn about the history and landscape of the surrounding area.

Gardens and sightseeing in Valsanzibio

The Giardino Monumentale di Valsanzibio is open daily for self-guided visits. From the last weekend of February to the second weekend of December, opening hours are continuously from 10:00 a.m. until sunset; in December, the garden is open until 4:30 p.m., and from the end of March to the beginning of October until 7:00 p.m. From the second weekend of December to the last weekend of February, visits are possible continuously from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30/5:00 p.m. Guided tours are also offered, explaining the symbolic significance of the garden and some botanical aspects.

One of its notable features is a boxwood maze that is more than 400 years old. The garden is therefore suitable both for an independent visit and for an in-depth guided tour focusing on symbolic and botanical aspects.

Trails, nature and activities on Monte Venda

Trail No. 4, the Sentiero del Monte Venda G.G. Lorenzoni, passes by the Fontana Olivato and through a chestnut forest with spring blossoms. Another option is the Cammino Laudato Si', which leads to Casa Marina on Monte Venda. There, visitors can visit the Botanical Garden and the Sentiero dei pianeti.

Casa Marina is also an information point for the Regional Park, serving people who are travelling along the park's trails. The site offers nature education activities and a Botanical Garden with an area dedicated to medicinal plants. The Giardino Botanico dei Colli Euganei reconstructs representative vegetation zones of the Euganean Hills.

Museum and historical context

The Museo dei Colli Euganei presents the millennia-old relationship between people and nature in the Euganean Hills. It presents Galzignano Terme and its districts, Galzignano and Valsanzibio, in five sections covering nature, history and art. The museum can be reached by bicycle via the Euganean Hills loop route and then along the cycle and pedestrian path from Galzignano starting at Battaglia Terme.

Another named landmark is the Antica Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta. It stands on Colle della Chiesa, also known as “Monteselo”, and dominates the surrounding landscape. It therefore complements the museum's natural and historical perspective with a single, landscape-defined site.

Thermal water and golf

The Terme di Galzignano are part of the Euganean thermal basin. Their hyperthermal water contains salt, bromine and iodine and emerges at approximately 80°C. The Terme di Galzignano are also known for their thermal muds. Alongside the trails, gardens and museums, these features give the area a clearly identifiable thermal character.

Golf Galzignano has a 9-hole course. It is 2,048 metres long and features an exclusive design as well as water features and ponds. The practice facility has covered teeing areas, a pitching/chipping green, a putting green and a practice bunker.
