Maserà Di Padova between religious history and local festivals

If you want to place Maserà Di Padova as a destination in Veneto, the strongest approach is through its documented local history, individual religious buildings and the festivals of the local community.

Historical traces in Santa Maria and Ca’ Murà

One of the oldest documented traces dates back to February 970. At that time, a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary is mentioned among the dependencies of the court of Maserà. The former parish church of Santa Maria is now closed to the public and is undergoing restoration. Its history nevertheless remains tangible: The building was rebuilt and rededicated on September 8, 1496. When planning a visit, you should therefore distinguish between the building’s historical significance and the fact that it is currently not open to the public.

In the medieval village of Ca’ Murà stands Villa Petrobelli, built around 1650. The Oratory of Santo Stefano, also located there, is first mentioned as a public oratory in 1034. From 1600, it was dedicated to Saint Dominic; in 1826, it bore the title Madonna del Rosario. The Oratory of Madonna del Rosario is located on Via Bolzani on the outskirts of the town. It faces the Adriatica state road and the Canale Battaglia—two specific local references that help place this historic building in context.

Festivals with regional cuisine

Local life is also reflected in recurring events. The Festa di contrada in honor of Saint Benedict has accompanied the local community every year since 2002. The Sagra della Natività provides a particularly clear date reference: The 2026 edition takes place from September 3 to 13 and is described as an annual gathering of the local religious and civic community.

The Sagra includes a food stand serving traditional dishes from Veneto. Offerings include gnocchi, bigoli, baccalà alla vicentina and polenta. The 2026 edition also includes evening stage performances and an evening of ballroom dancing. If you want to plan your stay around a specific event, this period is the most precisely documented occasion.

Villa Petrobelli and its gardens

The Villa Petrobelli complex includes a front garden, a rear park, a brolo and a woodland. These areas were entered in the 2013 “Parco più bello d’Italia” competition. The entry describes a historical and landscape feature of the estate, but says nothing about current public access or a competition victory.

Further places to consider

If you want to compare other destinations in addition to Maserà Di Padova, you can also include Due Carrare, Monselice, Vigodarzere, Albignasego, Tribano, Cittadella, Villa Di Teolo and Sant'Urbano in your selection.
