Rovolon brings together two clearly defined themes for planning your trip: paths through the landscape of the Euganean Hills and historic points of interest in the town. This allows you to tailor your stay according to whether you are primarily interested in exploring different trail routes or combining cultural landmarks with an exploration of the landscape.

Hiking trails with varied landscapes

The Sentiero del Rialto (R5) leads to Colle Mottolo. From there, you can enjoy a wide view of Monte Grande. The trail then continues through olive groves and the typical maquis of the Euganean Hills. The transition from the viewpoint to the landscape characterized by woodland makes this trail a clearly defined nature experience within the reviewed offerings in Rovolon.

Another named starting point is located on Via Manzoni: the car park and the beginning of the Sentiero di San Pietro (R6) are next to Cantina Reassi, on the road from Rovolon to Carbonara. This means that, for orientation, not only the name of the trail is recorded, but also the specific place where the car park and trailhead are located.

The Sentiero Rosa dei Colli (R7) descends along Monte Sereo, passing through a green valley before reaching the cycle path. Together with R5 and R6, this trail follows a different route: instead of a viewpoint or a named starting area, the focus here is on the path through the valley and the subsequent transition to the cycle path.

Church and historic villas

The Chiesa di San Giorgio in Rovolon has been documented since 1077. Its origins may date back to the 7th or 8th century. The church also contains apse frescoes from the late 15th century. The site therefore combines an early documented history with a specific art-historical detail.

Another historic landmark is Villa Ottavia, a building dating from the 15th century. It was built by the monks of Santa Giustina and formerly served as the residence of the rector of the Corte del Vegrolongo estate. Its former function is expressly part of the villa's history and does not describe its current use.

Villa da Rio-Soranzo dates from the 16th century and is now known as Schiavinato. It is situated in a scenic location on Rovolon's northern slope. For classifying this building, both its historic designation and its current name, as well as its hillside location, are therefore relevant.

Sightseeing routes around Frassanelle

In the nature park around Frassanelle, there are sightseeing routes along paths leading to a grotto, a bamboo grove, a gorge, and a neoclassical temple. This sequence brings together different landscape and architectural forms without presenting them as a single attraction. If you are looking for a hotel in Rovolon, you can therefore first decide whether the named hiking trails, the historic sites, or the sightseeing routes around Frassanelle should be the focus of your trip.

For further orientation, you can also include Conche, Correzzola, Sant'angelo Di Piove Di Sacco, Padua, Sant'Urbano, Monselice, Campodoro and Fornace Laterizi in your plans.
