Spinea offers a combination of local history, parks and cultural events for your stay. Spinea combines local history with green spaces such as the park of Villa Simion and Parco Nuove Gemme.

Historical traces in Spinea

A prominent testament to the past is the bell tower of the Chiesa dei Santi Vito e Modesto. It was built from an old watchtower and is one of the last surviving remnants of the castle of Orgnano, which was demolished in the 16th century. The tower therefore refers not only to the church but also to the town’s earlier history of fortification.

The Chiesa dei Santi Vito e Modesto is accessible to everyone because it has no architectural barriers. Interested visitors can therefore include this site in an individual exploration of Spinea.

Forte Sirtori is also part of the area’s historical profile. The fort was built in 1911 and is incorporated into the Campo trincerato di Mestre. Another historical connection is provided by Villa Morosini-Duca di Bardi-Palli, which hosted Emperor Franz Joseph. Together, these two references add to the picture of a place whose history encompasses different periods and architectural functions.

Parks and nature experiences

The park of Villa Simion covers approximately 6,000 square metres and contains more than 200 native and non-native plants. It therefore offers a clearly defined focus for anyone who also wishes to take botanical diversity into account when planning their trip. The park has benches and a pavilion. The entire path that runs through it is illuminated.

A different atmosphere awaits you at Parco Nuove Gemme, which includes a protected natural area. Together with the park of Villa Simion, this creates two different connections with nature: here, the diversity of a landscaped park is the focus, while there, the character of a protected area takes centre stage. This distinction can help you plan your excursions according to your personal interests without treating the two places as equivalent.

Culture in the park and exhibition space

AperiBiblio takes place in Parco di Villa Simion as a recurring summer series of concerts and aperitifs. The 2026 edition was the eighth instalment. If you would like to combine your stay with a cultural event, it is advisable to consider the respective edition and its specific date separately rather than deriving a year-round event calendar from the recurring series.

The exhibition space in the Oratorio di Villa Simion has hosted exhibitions for several years. They are organised by the Culture Department and the Spinea Library; the exhibitions are aimed mainly at local associations and artists. The space therefore complements the historical sights with a contemporary, locally oriented cultural connection.

Guidance for your accommodation search

Spinea is located on the Via Miranese, a historic connecting road between Mestre and the area around Padua that passes through Mirano. This classification helps you view Spinea as a destination in its own right in the area between these places. When searching for a hotel, you can then decide whether local history, the parks or a cultural event is the main factor for your trip. Distances, travel times and specific accommodation features should each be checked against the current offer.

You can also include other destinations from the same selection: Portogruaro, San Donà Di Piave, Santa Maria Di Sala, Stra, Fiesso D’artico, Camponogara, Pramaggiore and Cona.
