Godega Di Sant'urbano brings together cultural history, market dates and events in various forms. For travellers interested in art, local traditions and cuisine, the offerings range from a digital collection to visible local landmarks and specific festival dates.

Digital Culture and Historical Landmarks

The “Godega Experience” project has digitised 11 cultural heritage sites and 38 works of art in the local area. The collection is designed as an ongoing web resource. It thus highlights both cultural heritage sites and works of art, offering digital access to the town’s culture.

The Pozzo della Regola can still be seen in the square of the same name. In Pianzano is the historic Baver vineyard, considered a living archive of the old Venetian Piantata and protected since 2014 as intangible cultural heritage of an ethnographic-anthropological nature. The two examples have different emphases: one is tied to a specific square, while the other foregrounds the historic Piantata as cultural heritage.

Distinguishing Markets and Festivals by Their Dates

The Fiera di Godega takes place on the first Sunday in March and the following Monday; individual editions may differ. Its present-day form combines two old events that are thought to have originated at around the same time. The Mercatino dell’Antiquariato di Godega di Sant’Urbano follows a different schedule: it takes place on the third Sunday of every month, except in July and August. The dates are clearly distinct for planning purposes: the Fiera spans two consecutive days in March, while the antiques market is held on a Sunday each month and pauses during the two summer months.

The traditional Sagra di Bibano took place from 23 August to 2 September 2024 in the parish area of Bibano. At the September celebration of the Sagra di Bibano in 2019, young people who turned 19 that year carried the Madonna della Cintura in a procession.

Food and Cultural Events

In 2019, “Calici e Sapori in Villa” was held at the eighteenth-century Villa Pera in Pianzano as an enogastronomic show-cooking evening featuring tastings of local products and Italian specialities. The format at the time combined a demonstration with a tasting. If you would like to include food in your cultural interests, this specific event is another point of interest alongside markets and historic sites.

The Biblioteca comunale also organises cultural events, including theatre, concerts, conferences, excursions and guided tours, and offers library services. Thus, alongside individual sites and festival dates, there are also organised cultural events and library services. This broad range offers different ways to engage with culture—from stage and music events to excursions and guided tours.

Getting There and Accommodation

You can reach Godega Di Sant'urbano by car via the A28 motorway and the Godega di Sant'Urbano exit. When looking for a hotel, you can use the purpose of your trip as a starting point: a stay focused on markets has different timing considerations from a trip focused mainly on cultural history or food.
