Crespadoro combines distinctive natural experiences with a multifaceted local history. For planning your trip, you can compare circular hiking trails through forests, meadows, and mule tracks, a cave rooted in local tradition, historic religious buildings, and archaeological traces. Seasonal features are also part of the character of the area. This allows you to assess Crespadoro according to your preferred mix of landscape, culture, and specific destinations.

Cave and Local Tradition in Durlo

A characteristic point of interest is El Buso delle Anguane, a natural cave in Durlo. It can be reached via a forest path near Contrada Micheletti in Crespadoro. According to local tradition, the cave served as a refuge for the Anguane, magical female beings associated with water. The site thus connects a specific landform with a story from local tradition.

El Buso delle Anguane is also listed in the speleological register of Veneto because of its characteristic shape. This classification is connected with speleological research and the protection of Veneto's speleological heritage.

Two Circular Trails with Different Highlights

The Sentiero degli Angeli is an approximately 10 km circular hiking trail through the forests, meadows, and mule tracks of Campodalbero. The route includes 450 metres of elevation gain. The trail is therefore described by its route type, landscape features, and clearly stated length.

La Via dell'Acqua is also an approximately 6 km circular hiking trail. Its focus is the development of the water resources in the Valle del Chiampo for tourism; the centre of the route is in the hamlet of Durlo di Crespadoro. Those choosing between the two trails will therefore find a difference between a longer loop through the landscape of Campodalbero and a route that focuses on the water resources of the Valle del Chiampo.

Church, Folk Art, and Older Traces

The parish church of Sant'Andrea in Crespadoro is documented as a parish church as early as the period 1297–1303. The present-day church dates from the early 20th century. Both details belong together but reflect different historical layers: the early attestation of the parish and the age of the present church building.

Ceramic fragments discovered near Durlo on Monte Purga point to a Bronze Age civilization. Another site of cultural and historical interest is the Oratorio di San Matio. It serves as a place of devotion for a contrada and is decorated with expressive, mysterious sculptures of local folk art. The altarpiece bears the year 1749.

MarSEC is also located in Marana di Crespadoro, an astronomy centre operated by astronomy enthusiasts. Opening hours and events depend on their availability. For specific planning, the seasonal and organisational characteristics of this centre should therefore be taken into account.
