Pianezze lies along the foothills of the Asiago Plateau. The municipality combines hilly terrain with flat land, presenting two different types of landscape within a compact area. Particularly characteristic are the gentle hills along the Cherry Route near Pianezze, which become a natural spectacle during the cherry blossom season in April.

Landscape and Trails

For exploring the area on foot, the Sentiero dei Ciliegi follows a clearly described route: the trail leads from Pianezze to Marostica and can then be followed back to Pianezze. This provides a choice between the route to Marostica and the section through the coppice woodland. From the northern end of Contrada Malossi, the trail passes through coppice woodland; along the way, you can be accompanied by the sound of the stream below. In 1996, a project was also developed in Pianezze to create an educational trail along the town's old paths. The initiative made it possible to restore old connecting paths. Pianezze is a stop on the Strada della Ciliegia. The Colceresa itinerary also bears the cherry, a typical local product, in its name. From mid-May onwards, cherries are presented at numerous stalls along the roads and at traditional festivals in Pianezze. In addition to the IGP cherries, grapevines and olive trees are among the town's highly specialized crops.

Churches and Historic Buildings

The parish church of San Lorenzo was completely rebuilt between 1753 and 1754. Inside, it houses a fresco cycle by the painter Giuseppe Graziani from Padua, who lived from 1699 to 1760. The church of San Nicolò was restored in 1981 by the Alpini Association of Pianezze. It also contains a fresco by an unknown artist depicting the Madonna and Child, possibly alongside the House of Nazareth or the church of San Nicolò; Saint Nicholas and Saint Oswald are depicted below. The Oratorio dei SS. Filippo e Giacomo was first mentioned in 1262. It preserves a fresco fragment of the Virgin and Child from the second half of the 15th century or the beginning of the 16th century. The Oratorio di San Leonardo contains an oil painting by an unknown artist from around 1700 depicting Saint Leonard. The villas and historic residences also complement the townscape. Villa Maroso is a square building dating from the 16th century. On the piano nobile, columns have been preserved that formerly supported the architrave of a loggia later closed off. In the courtyard, the villa preserves an original well with a brick-built terracotta surround and original hydraulic-mechanical mechanisms. Casa Rigo has a central tower structure that formerly served as a dovecote, two side wings and a cornice decorated with terracotta. Other places in this selection: Zané, Barbarano Vicentino, Radi, Breganze, Mussolente, San Giuseppe, Torri Di Quartesolo, Vo.
