San Giorgio Di Perlena combines a clearly described route through vineyards, olive groves and irises with winegrowing, church heritage sites and local festival traditions. This gives you different starting points for planning your trip: you can explore a specific trail with views of the landscape, learn about the history of the churches or discover the character of winegrowing at BOSCODIVINO.

Route through vineyards, olive groves and irises

The “San Giorgio tra vigne, ulivi e iris” route begins at the car park near the Monumento ai caduti di San Giorgio Martire on Via Perlena. It is 7.35 km long, has 440 m of positive elevation gain and takes approximately two hours.

Along the way, the route offers views of the Chiavone Nero valley. The view also extends across the hillsides, predominantly covered with vineyards, on the Breganze side and on the San Giorgio side.

Winegrowing and BOSCODIVINO

BOSCODIVINO has vineyards in San Giorgio di Perlena and in Breganze, covering a total area of 3.5 hectares. The grape varieties grown are Vespaiola, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. For visitors who want to discover the local character through specific products, this documents not only the landscape aspect but also the variety of the grape varieties mentioned.

The BOSCODIVINO experience includes a walk through the vineyards, a visit to the ageing cellar for Metodo Classico and a tasting of all BOSCODIVINO wines in the panoramic room. The three components are clearly distinct: the trail leads through the vineyards, the cellar is dedicated to ageing for Metodo Classico, and the tasting of all BOSCODIVINO wines is the focus in the panoramic room.

Churches and local festival culture

The Chiesa Arcipretale di San Giorgio, Martire, at Via Perlena 81 in Fara Vicentino is one of the church heritage sites to visit for orientation. The Oratorio Nostra Signora del Sacro Cuore di Gesù is located on Via Laverda in Fara Vicentino. The two church sites are on different streets in Fara Vicentino. An important document mentions the Chiesa di San Giorgio for the first time in 1297. In addition, the new church was already in use in 1805. These dates mark different historical reference points without combining the individual sites into a single building history.

The Sagra Patronale di San Giorgio takes place annually on April 23. It is organized by the local Gruppo Alpini with the support of the Pro Loco di Fara Vicentino. The celebration ends with a traditional concert by the Corpo Bandistico di San Giorgio. The production of objects is also part of the established local traditions: all objects bearing the name Lunardon are now produced at the site in San Giorgio di Perlena.
