Culture in Vo takes many forms: the architectural history of Villa Rossi and the nearby Giazzara, as well as film, theatre and music series. There are also seasonal events and festivals with their own traditions. To help you plan your trip, it is useful to distinguish between these themes: the buildings offer visible historical details, while the cultural programme is shaped by series and individual events.

Villa Rossi and the Giazzara

The Giazzara, a cone-shaped icehouse, is still visible next to Villa Rossi. Its shape makes it a distinctive architectural feature alongside the villa. Villa Rossi is also known as ex Giustiniani. A plaque above the central window gives 1684 as the year it was built and 1892 as the year it was restored; the building was altered further at a later date. The two years therefore mark different stages in its architectural history: construction, restoration and subsequent alterations.

Another detail is the villa’s street portal. It features rusticated masonry, two amphorae and the Giustiniani coat of arms. Together with the Giazzara and the plaque, these offer different points of reference for exploring the building’s history: the design of the portal, the icehouse’s conical shape, and the dates recorded on the building. These details can be considered separately rather than judging the villa solely by its year of construction.

Film, theatre and music

The Sala della Comunità di Vo’ di Brendola organises film, theatre and music series. As of 2026, it has hosted more than 130 artistic projects over three decades and welcomed musicians from 50 countries. Its programme brings together several disciplines; the long series of projects and the musicians’ international backgrounds give this cultural venue a distinctive character. If you are interested in events, this offers a different way to experience Vo than its historic buildings.

The film programme includes Rossodisera-Cinema d’estate, a recurring summer series of open-air cinema in Vo’. The series returns each summer, but its individual programmes are tied to specific dates. This sets it apart from the Sala’s film, theatre and music series, which are organised as separate programme areas: the open-air cinema is described as a summer series, while the Sala covers several disciplines.

Festivals and special concert dates

The Sagra dell’Assunta is also part of the event tradition in Vo’ di Brendola. The Gruppo Sportivo Vò has organised it annually since the 1970s. Its long history distinguishes it from a one-off concert and makes it a separate option if you are interested in recurring festivals.

One example of a musical event held on a specific date is the Santo Stefano concert on 26 December 2023 at the church in Vo’ di Brendola. The choir I Musici di Brendola organised the traditional concert under the patronage of the Municipality of Brendola. Vo’ on the Folks, meanwhile, is a Veneto festival of world music and folk; in 2026 it celebrates its 30th anniversary. These examples differ in format and timing: an annually organised Sagra, a concert on a specific date, and a festival marking an anniversary in 2026.

This gives you a way to choose between visible architectural history, regularly organised series and individual events. You can also explore other destinations through the pages for Castegnero, Trissino, Bertesina, Grisignano Di Zocco, Belvedere, San Floriano, Cartigliano and Tezze Sul Brenta.
