Rovigo Province

In the north of Italy in the Venice region, is located the province of Rovigo. This province is 1790 km2 in size and is divided into 50 municipalities with a population of 245000 people. It borders with the provinces of Venice, Verona and Padua in the north, Emilia-Romagna in the south, Lombardy in the west and the Adriatic Sea in the east. In the Rovigo province is located the delta of the river Pos in and the Adriatic that is definitely worth seeing.

In the east of the province of Rovigo is located a small village of Malera that is famous for its ancient history and art, as a prove of this here stands the famous Madonna del Lume. Further to the south there is Castelnovo with its unique river island. It is a popular sight for every holiday and makes a trip to the province of Rovigo absolutely worthwhile. The accommodations here are not too crowded, so the traditional atmosphere is not lost.

Only the closeness to nature and the Italians make the region so unique. Ancient customs and traditions can be witnessed here, such as the strawberry harvest festival in Salara. It is a wonderful opportunity for people to understand the culture and not to concentrate on mass events.
