Quinto Vicentino offers several points of interest for a stay: Villa Thiene represents architectural history and art, while the Farina Mill and the parish church of Chiesa di S. Giorgio add other historic buildings to the picture. A cycling route and the local culinary tradition of eel bring different accents. You can consider cultural interests, physical activity and regional cuisine as distinct priorities when planning your trip.

Villa Thiene on the Tesina

Villa Thiene was built around 1545–1546 for Marcantonio Thiene and stands on the banks of the Tesina in Quinto Vicentino. Today it houses the municipal administration. The same building thus brings together a clearly specified historical date of construction and a present-day municipal function.

Between 1553 and 1555, Giovanni De Mio painted frescoes on the salon vault. This artistic decoration followed a few years after the villa was built and marks a distinct stage in its history. Visits are possible by prior reservation; the villa has accessible routes.

Church and mill: different time spans

Chiesa di S. Giorgio is a parish church in Quinto Vicentino. Its period of construction spans from the second half of the 18th century to the first quarter of the 20th century. The church is therefore notable for its extended historical time span, rather than a single year of construction.

The Farina Mill was built in 1453 and is located in Lanzè, a hamlet of Quinto Vicentino. Its early construction date sets it apart from Villa Thiene and the later period when the parish church began to be built. Its location is another distinct point of interest: the mill is in Lanzè, while Villa Thiene stands on the banks of the Tesina. This makes it possible to distinguish the different buildings and their respective locations.

Cycling and regional cuisine

The RV7 Media Pianura Vicentina adds an active option. This flat circular route is 40 kilometres long and runs north from Grisignano di Zocco to Quinto Vicentino. It offers a clearly defined cycling tour alongside the town’s historical attractions. Route details may change due to operational circumstances.

The Festa dea Bisata celebrates eel as a traditional local speciality; it is cooked in the oven or on the grill. This gives the culinary theme a specific connection to a regional dish and two stated cooking methods.

Plan your stay around your interests

When looking for a hotel in Quinto Vicentino, you can start with the focus you want: Villa Thiene combines architectural history and frescoes, while the RV7 offers a clearly defined option for a 40-kilometre cycling loop. This makes it possible to weigh up whether culture or cycling should play a greater role in your trip.
